CSA's CAPABILITIES
Quality:
We do not credit our associate for a load until that load is completed to the customer's satisfaction; meeting all the customer's standards. This includes keeping the work area clean and free of debris. Our associates are required to deliver the freight to you in a consistent, claim-free manner, so your warehouse personnel can accomplish their job effectively.

Safety:
It is the firm, continuing policy of our company that an effective safety program will be established and implemented on a daily basis. The following guidelines will be followed:

1. Employee safety is the direct responsibility of all management personnel, with each employee accountable for his/her safety performance. Safety and loss prevention are as important to us as retaining customers, reaching income goals, and maintaining a high level of quality.

2. Safety on the job is paramount. No operation is so important that it should be done in a manner which will bring endangerment to personnel or property. We will strive to correct any known safety hazards and give precedence to maintaining a safe working environment.

3. We will be in full compliance to federal, state and local safety codes and regulations and to nationally recognized safety, fire protection and health standards.

4. With each new position, employee safety and protection of property will be an integral part of the planning process. Present locations and facilities will be constantly reviewed to maintain high standards of safety.

Communication:
Communication is the key to success in any management relationship. All supervisory personnel carry two-way radios for instant communication with your supervision. If necessary, one of our supervisors on duty will be bilingual, for those non-conversant in English. This facilitates better communication between our work force and your supervision. Keeping an open line of communication is of paramount importance to proper supervision and planning.

On-Call, Off-Hour Coverage:
We are aware that 98% of your loads will probably be done within normal receiving hours. Supervisory/associate coverage is from 2:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday- Saturday) and 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday. We also understand the necessity to be able to respond to on-call, on-demand loads. Even though these loads will be infrequent, they are important. The following steps will enable you to obtain associate coverage for after-hour loads:

1) An organizational chart and contact sheet will be given to all supervisory personnel.
2) The only necessary call should be to our Facility Manager. A complete phone list will outline all supervisory personnel. The Facility Manager will have 3 numbers to contact (in this order): cell phone or pager, home number.
3) You should have a response to your "on-call" or "off-hour" request within 15 minutes.
4) Response should be within 1 hour to cover your load.
5) We do suggest that since this work is considered Overtime for our employee (1.5 times the posted rate), that the carrier be billed the Overtime rate (1.5 times the posted rate) for the load.

Description of Operation:
Our supervisor obtains the next day's workload and starts planning his work force. He then contacts his manpower and assigns start times.

The supervisor will arrive approximately 45 minutes prior to the shift start and review the requirements for the day with your supervisor. If adjustments are needed from the previous day's plans, necessary arrangements are made.

The supervisor will conduct a pre-shift safety meeting with the crew and assign the work for that shift. He will then start working the dock to address any difficulties that arise. When problems are discovered, they will be addressed immediately and your supervisor will be informed if necessary. We emphasize to our supervisors that they must spend the majority of their time on the dock.

After working the dock for the first part of the shift, the supervisor will check with your people to make plans for the following shift. When finished, the supervisor will again work the dock and monitor his crew. At the end of the shift, he will collect and fill out his shift's paperwork. He will discuss any concerns with his manager before turning over to the next supervisor.
